General Geekway Policy
The most important rule of Geekway to the West is to have fun! That said, we do have a few policies to follow.
Partial Admissions – Admissions are one price and valid for all four days.
Children – As with all attendees, our goal is that children and their parents have fun while respecting the enjoyment of others. All attendees 10 and older must have a valid Geekway badge. Children under the age of 10 must always be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian; minors age 10-17 must have a responsible guardian present at Geekway at all times.
Harassment – Don’t harass the other guests. If you’re being harassed by a guest, please let us know immediately and we will handle it. See our full harrassment policy below.
Food, Drinks, and Alcohol – Food and drink in the gaming area must be purchased from the convention center.
Sportsmanship – Don’t be a jerk.
Payment – All badges must be purchased through our EventBrite system.
Refunds – You can receive a full refund by requesting one through EventBrite. Refunds are available until the badge file is sent to the printer, around April 1st.
Badges – No swapping/lending of badges is allowed. Badges should be worn prominently at all times.
Lost Items/Theft – Geekway, LLC is not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
Smoking – In accordance with Hotel Policy and Local Laws, there is no smoking in the convention area.
Geekway to the West understands that gaming (both online and tabletop) communities have not always been welcoming to minorities and women. For this reason, we have adopted this policy to create a harassment-free and inclusive experience for everyone. Therefore, we do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Please familiarize yourself with our definition of harassment, and what we expect of Geekway attendees.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or gender identity; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If you, as an attendee, feel harassed, you may inform the offender that you would like the harassing behavior to stop immediately. If you are not comfortable doing this, you may contact a Geekway staff member who will address the concern. Likewise, if you feel that someone else is being harassed, you may notify a Geekway staff member who will address the concern.
To report harassment, go to Geekway HQ (the same place where you pick up your badge on arrival) and ask for the Geekway Owner On Call. The owner will meet you at Geekway HQ and ask you to describe what happened. Both male and female staff members are available to talk with you, in private or in a public space. Geekway will listen to your report and will work with you to take appropriate action. We consider your report anonymous and will not share it with anyone without your permission unless we think there is a violation of the law. In many cases, someone who has been harassed will ask only that we are aware and that we take action if a pattern develops. We respect that wish and understand that it is often the best approach. Please do not hesitate to talk with us out of fear that you might be “outed.”
If you, as an attendee, are asked to stop behaving in a way that is interpreted as harassment, you are expected to stop, immediately. Arguing about the situation or trying to convince someone that your behavior is not harassment will not get you anywhere. Just stop. If you disagree that your behavior is harassment, that is fine, but the behavior should stop anyway.
If anyone engages in harassing behavior, Geekway organizers may take any action they, in their sole discretion, deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion with no refund.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

Announcements will happen daily as close to 4pm as poosible. We will limit announcements to 30 minutes or less, but during this time we will be talking on the microphones, and this may interrupt your games, and for that we apologize. Maybe this would be a good time to take a bathroom break or grab a snack?
Prize and Giveaway Policy
Geekway has several types of giveaways that we do throughout the con. Here’s what you may want to know about how all of them work!
A caveat: Geekway Prize Rules are guidelines, not hard and fast rules. We retain the right to make last minute changes to the way things work, make mistakes, or otherwise somehow vary from these rules!
1. Early Bird Giveaways: Early bird prizes are completely random and arbitrary, and we (the organizers) can handle them however we’d like at our complete whim and discretion, including skipping them altogether if we sleep in.
2. Door prizes: All door prizes will be handled daily as close to the scheduled time as possible. When you register, you will receive a two-part ticket. Put one part in the prize bucket and keep the other part. We will randomly draw one ticket from the bucket for each prize given away. You must be present to win, and you must show your ticket to claim your prize. Once your ticket has been drawn, it will be removed from the bucket for all subsequent door prize drawings (that is, you can only win one door prize for the whole weekend per ticket). If your ticket is drawn and you are not present, it will be placed back into the bucket for future drawings.
Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization.
